Sometimes you need to turn things upside down to gain a different perspective.
For me, inversions help release stress or anxiety because it forces me to be in the present moment, and I love the feeling of working towards something. I’m currently working on mastering forearm stands and hand stands — and the times I’ve been able to hit it have been extremely gratifying. Not because I want to be able to post a picture of it on Instagram, but because it signifies I’ve gained a deeper understanding of my body and have been able to focus my mind.
Benefits of Inversions Include:
- Increase immunity and prevent illness
- Energized you and builds confidence
- Stimulates your lymphatic system
- Builds core strength
- Forces you to focus
- Releases your ego and teaches you to practice non-attachment
- Calms the nervous system
So even if you are a newbie to inversions, grab a wall to practice and see how you feel upside down!
